The traditional style keel-fin fish effortlessly glides down the line with drive and speed. This is due to its flat planing hull and two large parallel ply keel fins. The Keel-Fin Fish was originally designed in the 1960’s as a kneeboard by California’s Steve Lis.
It was later refined by Skip Frye and surfers Derek Hynd and Tom Curren in the 1980’s. Jed Done was the shaper of the famous Hynd Fish model for Derek Hynd for over ten years. Jed’s own model is a remake of the traditional keel-fin fish in its most refined form.
This style of board should be ordered 4-8 inches shorter than your regular board.
