Little Board of Happiness - Built for pure happiness in small waves
The concept of the LBOH was based around Torren Martyn desiring a shrunken version of the Tracks Twin. Simon knew that simply shrinking the template wouldn’t have worked, so he took notes from the straighter rail of Steve Lis fishes to keep the run and drive, and allow a small board work for a bigger guy.
What resulted was an incredibly fun, fast board that travels through turns, projects well and doesn’t skip out.
LBOH is as happy skimming cross summer slop as it is in 6 foot Indonesian tubes.
If you were wondering, the name comes from the strong energy reading Albe Falzon (the man behind the Iconic Morning of the Earth film, and a good friend of Simons) was receiving when he was testing the first prototype of this board. The surfs he was having gave him so much joy that he christened it “The Little Board of Happiness”.
Due to the shortened size, minimal bottom contours keep the board feeling simple and predictable. The board travels across the wave with very little resistance.
Fairly flat rocker throughout, with slight tail lift.
The moon tail reduces the volume of the tail without sacrificing rail length. Removing more foam from the tail allows the water to wrap around the “fangs” and knife into the face, keeping the tail from skipping under power. Torren found this theory to work exceptionally well in the barrel.
Simon recommends his custom twin fin shape for this board. A full fiberglass MR style twin with a stiff flex and slight inside foil to smooth transitions. Futures base.
